How it works
From the first survey to a protected garden
What we do, what you need to have in place, and how long each stage takes. No surprises, and no commitment until the quote is signed.
The three stages
1. Survey and design
A Biooz technician comes to the property, measures the perimeter to be protected and assesses the layout of the garden: hedges, railings, flower beds, pergolas. That is what determines the nozzle layout, spaced roughly 3 metres apart. The survey is free and does not commit you to buying.
2. Installation and setup
The team lays the tubing along the perimeter, fits the nozzles, installs the control unit and connects the weather sensor. It then sets up the Biooz app on your smartphone and shows you how to schedule the cycles.
3. Active protection
The system runs to the schedule you chose. The sensor suspends cycles when it rains or the wind picks up, so no product is wasted. You get the notifications and track consumption from the app.
What you need on site
Power supply
A protected mains socket near the chosen position for the control unit — typically a utility room, a garage or an outdoor enclosure.
Water connection (not always)
The Single-Product and Dual-Product models connect to the mains water supply. Where the garden has none, the Tank Model runs on its own with a 50-litre tank refilled by hand.
Wi-Fi network
The control unit connects to your home Wi-Fi to talk to the app. If the signal does not reach the installation point, the technician checks it during the survey and proposes a fix.
Space for the control unit
A small sheltered area is needed for the unit and the product containers. The technician works out the best position with you.
How long it takes
It normally takes a few working days to go from enquiry to survey. The written quote follows the visit. Installing a medium-sized garden usually takes about a day; longer or more broken-up perimeters can take more. Exact timings are stated in the quote.
The weather sensor
Misting in the rain or in strong wind is pointless: the product disperses before it can act. That is why the system includes a sensor that detects rain and wind and automatically suspends scheduled cycles, resuming them once conditions improve. You never have to remember to switch anything off.
Maintenance and refills
Product refills
The app warns you as the level drops. Refills are delivered to your door, so you do not have to source them elsewhere.
Seasonal check
A check of the nozzles and tubing at the start of the season is worthwhile. Nozzles can be cleaned or replaced individually.
Remote support
Most reported issues are resolved remotely through the app, with no need for a site visit.
